On the 14th of May, freshmen students from the Torre Vicens High School in Lleida participated in an innovative workshop organized by the BIG4LIFE project together with the Official Architects Gild of Catalonia and the University of Lleida.
Working in small groups, the students prepared a 1:1 section of a green roof. This exercise has allowed them to learn about the many benefits BIG systems provide, such as a decrease in urban temperature, and improvement in both air quality and urban biodiversity. This workshop also allowed the students to have a better understanding of the importance of sustainable architecture in cities.
